Plumber arrested for murder after stabbing motorist in Chinchwad |

Pune: A plumber was arrested on Monday, a day after he fatally stabbed an autorickshaw driver (34) in the chest with a screwdriver during an argument at a rural liquor store in Chinchwad on Sunday evening.
A Chinchwad Police The team led by Senior Inspector Jitendra Koli arrested plumber Yashwant Bagade (42) from Chinchwadenagar in Chinchwad using CCTV footage. The victim, Amir Khan of Vetalnagar in Chinchwad, died on the spot.
Khan and his two friends drank alcohol in the branch. The plumber also drank alcohol there. “Khan and Bagade had a verbal argument over sharing the former’s shot glass with another patron in the bar,” Koli said.
The officer said after the heated argument, the suspect left the bar. Khan followed him and kicked and punched him. Khan even tried to attack him with a brick. Khan’s friends tried to stop him and the suspect from attacking each other.
“Suspect Bagade retaliated by taking a screwdriver and stabbing the victim in the chest. Khan died on the spot. The suspect fled the scene,” he said.
The official said a case has been registered against Bagade under Section 103 (murder) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
