For a team that many expected to be active in the offseason, the Miami Heat made no real additions other than signing two players and then signing Alec Burks. The Heat have a lot they want to accomplish this year, and whether they have championship aspirations or not, they are a team that could be in for some big changes if they fail to make the playoffs again. One question that will certainly determine how the Miami Heat’s season goes this season revolves around which Jimmy Butler the team will get. Will they get a highly motivated Jimmy or one who will do everything he can during the regular season to get to the playoffs healthy?

If Miami can compete with the top of the Eastern Conference, they will need to play at a high level from the opening tip. Given the East’s talent, Miami’s championship hopes could be dashed in the first two months of the season if they fall too far behind in the conference standings.

A motivated and committed Jimmy could certainly be the key to avoiding that for the Heat.
