12 dead, 15 missing after flooding in East Tennessee, TEMA says

(WCYB) — Twelve people have been confirmed dead and 15 are missing in East Tennessee following flooding in Helene, according to the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency.

Here are the deaths reported by the county:

• 2 in Cocke County
• 1 in Greene County
• 1 in Johnson County
• 1 in Knox County
• 5 in Unicoi County
• 2 in Washington County

Additionally, 15 people are missing – 3 in Carter County, 6 in Greene County, 3 in Unicoi County and 3 in Washington County.
