Poteet High School in Mesquite ISD postponed Monday due to a shooting nearby

Mesquite police are investigating an officer-involved shooting Monday morning. It’s not yet clear whether the officer was shot, someone else was shot, or both.

The shooting happened on Poteet Drive near North Galloway Avenue and Mesquite ISD’s Poteet High School. Mesquite PD says the shooting was unrelated to the school, but there will be a delay on campus out of an abundance of caution.
