Campbell Hatton calls city’s plans for entertainment destination ‘incredible’

Manchester City recently hosted lightweight boxing sensation and lifelong City fan Campbell Hatton at the Etihad Stadium following the Blues’ 2-1 win over Brentford.

Campbell, the son of former two-division world boxing champion Ricky Hatton, took a break from his grueling training camp to visit the Etihad and prepare for his fight against Jimmy Joe Flint for the Central Area super lightweight title.

The pair fight as part of Chorley star Jack Catterall’s meeting with former world champion Regis Prograis at Co-op Live on October 26.

The recently opened state-of-the-art arena is located directly opposite the site of Manchester’s newest entertainment venue, currently under construction at the Etihad Campus.

On the club’s ambitious £300 million plans and its upcoming battle, Campbell said:

“The plans for the new Entertainment District look incredible. The combination of Etihad Stadium and Co-op Live is not only great for the east of the city, but it continues to strengthen Manchester and the North West as a destination for world-class fans.” Sport.

“It’s a dream come true to watch the team you love and have followed your whole life and then fight on home soil just a stone’s throw away in the first major boxing event to be held at the arena.”

“I have always enjoyed the great support of the people of Manchester and look forward to fighting in front of them.”

Campbell isn’t the first public figure to praise Entertainment Destination’s plans. Last month, City fan Joe Jonas compared it to “something out of an Avengers movie”, while Kings of Leon drummer and fellow City fan Nathan Followill said: “It looks phenomenal, like its own Olympic village.”

The approved proposals for the entertainment destination focus on an expanded North Stand, which will see the club increase the capacity of the Etihad Stadium to over 60,000.

The new facility will include a stunning new sky bar overlooking the pitch, a stadium rooftop circuit and a covered City Square fan area with a capacity for 3,000 people.

In addition, the new development will also feature a wide range of dining options, a new club shop, museum experiences, commercial office space and a 400-bed hotel, one of the largest in Manchester.

Hatton also spoke to fans on stage during the first pre-match zone, held at Co-op Live. The Street played host to 3,000 City fans who enjoyed pre-match entertainment and matchday preparation in the heart of the UK’s largest live entertainment arena.

Fans gathered in a relaxed atmosphere to discuss the game, listen to a live DJ, listen to guest speakers and take part in a range of exclusive competitions.

The Co-op Live will offer follow-up pre-match fan zones, including in front of Sparta Prague.
