Dallas, TX – Three people died and three others were injured after two vehicles collided on the Mountain Creek Lake Bridge in Dallas late last month.

The fatal accident occurred on September 26, 2024 at around 8:14 a.m Mountain Creek Lake Bridge (toll bridge).

According to Texas DPS, a preliminary investigation revealed that Christine Johnson Lugo, 45, of Dallas, was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Malibu eastbound and Jorge Nunez, 30, of Fort Worth, was driving a 2021 KIA Forte westbound.

For some reason, the Kia Forte crossed into oncoming traffic and crashed into the Malibu.

Jorge Nunez suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Two children in Jorge’s vehicle, 7-year-old Sofia Nunez and 5-year-old Deborah Nunez, were transported to Children’s Hospital, where both were pronounced dead.

Christine Lugo and her two passengers – nine-year-old Noah Lugo and seven-year-old Camila Lugo – suffered life-threatening injuries in the accident. Christine was transported to Methodist Dallas Medical Center while the children were transported to Children’s Medical Center Dallas.

No further information about the incident was provided.

The incident remains under investigation.
