Election 2024 | The North Carolina State Board of Elections provides an update on elections in Western North Carolina following Hurricane Helene

RALEIGH, N.C. (WTVD) — The North Carolina State Board of Elections is expected to report Monday on the impact of Hurricane Helene on elections in Western North Carolina.

With the election just a month away, the State Board of Election reported a dozen county offices remain closed. Officials are not aware of any damage to voting equipment or lost printed ballots.

It is still unclear where people in affected areas will be able to vote.

The update is expected in the afternoon.
