Real estate dealer arrested for sexual exploitation of 12-year-old girl in Nagpur

Nagpur, Oct 7 (PTI) A real estate dealer was arrested for allegedly sexually exploiting a 12-year-old girl in Maharashtra’s Nagpur city, police said on Monday.

Acting on a complaint from the girl’s mother, police arrested the 50-year-old man under provisions of the IPC and Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act, an official said.

The abuse began in January after the girl’s mother contacted the defendant about selling a property and he began visiting her home, he said.

He allegedly raped the girl, a resident of Ajini, when she was home alone and threatened to kill her mother if she told anyone about the attack, the official said.

The child had been raped multiple times and when the accused did it again on Saturday, the mother found out about it and contacted the police, he said. PTI COR ARU
