BURNET COUNTY – Authorities are searching for two men in connection with a possible attempted shooting at a church in Central Texas on Sunday.

Around 10:30 a.m., Burnet County deputies were called to the church at Epicenter in Burnet County, northwest of Austin.

Officials said a member of the church’s volunteer security team encountered two “suspicious” men in the parking lot, one of whom was holding a rifle.

That church volunteer drew his gun and fired several shots, the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office said, and the suspects fled north on U.S. 281 in a white minivan.

The sheriff’s office said there were no reported injuries.

According to the sheriff’s office, state and federal authorities have joined the investigation.

This is a developing story.
