NASCAR playoff contenders Joey Logano and Chase Elliott crash at Talladega

It looked like the big one wasn’t going to happen at Talladega on Sunday at the YellaWood 500. But just four laps before the end there was a serious crash, and a big one at that.

28 cars were involved in the accident, including playoff contenders Austin Cindric, who was just outside the lead in the race, Chase Elliott, Joey Logano, Alex Bowman, Tyler Reddick and Chase Briscoe.

Cindric had led for 29 laps.

The crash began when Brad Keselowski gave Cindric a push, sending Cindric flying into leader Ricky Stenhouse Jr.

Stenhouse won the race by 0.006 seconds over Keselowski. William Byron was third, Kyle Larson was fourth and Erik Jones was fifth. .
