Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas Emma Brungardt killed in car accident

Emma Brungardt, the 2024 Miss Teen Rodeo Kansas, died in a car accident Friday night and five of her teammates were injured in rural Kansas.

Emma, ​​19, was pronounced dead at the scene around 9:44 p.m., authorities said.

The accident occurred at the Y intersection of County Road 21 and a private driveway. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol accident report, the driver was traveling southbound, crossed the intersection and struck a line of trees.

Brungardt was in the vehicle along with other rodeo team members who sustained injuries and were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

“Emma was a kind soul who welcomed people and always had a positive attitude,” the CC College Rodeo team wrote on Facebook.
