Man and dog stabbed as brawl breaks out in popular east London park

A man and a dog were stabbed in a brawl in east London, leading to two arrests.

Another man was also injured after an incident involving two dogs in Victoria Park on Sunday morning.

Police were called to Römerstrasse shortly after 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and found a man in his 50s with stab wounds. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

A dog was also found with stab wounds and taken to a veterinarian.

The Met Police added that a second man was identified and was found to have suffered a dog bite.

Both men were arrested.

The Met Police said in a statement: “Police were called to Roman Road, E3, shortly after 10.30am on Sunday, October 6, to reports of a stabbing.

“Officers attended the scene along with London Ambulance Service paramedics. A man in his 50s was found with stab wounds.

“He was treated at the scene by paramedics. His injuries were not considered life-threatening.

“A dog was also found with stab wounds and taken to a vet.

“A second man was identified and was found to have suffered a dog bite.

“Both men were arrested following an alleged incident involving two dogs in Victoria Park.

“A crime scene has been established. The investigation is ongoing.”

It came after two young children and a 30-year-old woman were taken to hospital in southeast London after being mauled by dogs.

Four dogs attacked the children, aged four and six, and the woman on Mickleham Road in St Paul’s Cray, north of Orpington, before 9am on Saturday.

A woman was arrested and taken into custody on suspicion of dangerously out-of-control dogs.
