5 dead identified after crash in Clermont County

CLERMONT COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – Five people are dead after a multi-vehicle crash in Clermont County, police said.

At 1:43 a.m. Sunday, the Ohio State Highway Patrol responded to a two-vehicle crash on State Route 28 at Edenton Pleasant Plain Road in Goshen

According to police, after the vehicles collided, both cars veered off the north side of the roadway and landed in a ditch and embankment.

The Clermont County Coroner’s Office said Mathew Penny, 25, Dustin McDole, 43, Chloe Love, 19, Dezmen Jernigan, 18, and Andrea Iery, 42, were all pronounced dead at the scene.

Another person was taken to UC Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

Jernigan’s family has created a Gofundme page for funeral expenses and a Gofundme page has also been created for Love.
