1 child dies in accidental shooting in Sand Springs

A child died in an apparent accidental shooting in Sand Springs Sunday morning, according to Sand Springs police.

According to police, the incident occurred near the 4800 block of southern Grenada.

Police say the child who shot the other child caught him in what adults say was a “safe place.”

According to authorities, another child was arrested at the scene.

After interviewing those involved and analyzing the crime scene, authorities believe the shooting was apparently accidental.

According to police, no charges will be filed at this time.

Crime scene technicians are still on site collecting evidence.

It is currently unclear whether an adult was home at the time of the shooting.

Authorities say this is an isolated incident and there are no threats at this time.
