Woman electrocuted: Tragic electrocution incident at religious event in Bihar: Woman dies, 13 injured | Patna News

Patna: A woman died of electrocution and 13 others sustained injuries after they came into contact with a live wire during a religious ceremony at a temple in Karkat Bigha village in Paliganj sub-division of Patna district on Sunday.
The incident occurred at 3 p.m. while over 50 people, mostly women and children, were “Satsang‘, a religious event on the first floor of Devi Mandir in the village.
Police said that one Sumicha Devi (35), wife of Shivkumar Das, was electrocuted while trying to save a child who came in contact with one High voltage line.
The current then spread through the roof railing and twelve other people suffered serious injuries.
Rajesh Kumar, SHO of Paliganj police station, who was at the spot with his team, said the body of Sumicha Devi has been sent for post-mortem.
He added, “Of the injured, four are in a critical condition and have been referred to AIIMS-Patna while the others are being treated at Paliganj sub-divisional hospital.”
