Soldier stabbed on field: Person stabbed after Bears game, Chicago police and fire officials say

CHICAGO (WLS) – A person was stabbed at Soldier Field after a Bears game Sunday afternoon.

The incident occurred shortly after 6 p.m. on the athletic field, Chicago police said.

A male victim, whose age was not available, was involved in an argument with a 41-year-old man who produced a knife, police said.

The victim suffered cuts to his face and shoulder, police said. He was picked up by first responders outside Bears Stadium downtown and taken to Northwestern Hospital, a Chicago Fire Department spokesman told ABC7.

According to the fire department, the victim was initially in critical condition, but Chicago police later reported that the person was in fair condition. Her exact age was not yet known.

The circumstances of the verbal argument that led to the stabbing were also initially unknown.

The Chicago Bears played a home game against the Carolina Panthers at Soldier Field earlier in the day.
