The Combat Air Museum hosts the 4th Annual Auto Show

TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – A car show took place in a unique location on Sunday.

The fourth annual automobile show was held at the Combat Air Museum on Saturday.

Participants brought cars from numerous eras, some even from the 1920s.

The event raised money for the museum.

“It’s no secret, I mean, we promote that every part of the money we make here goes to the museum and what they have to do with it,” said organizer Rob Goodrich. “It also brings the museum on board and makes people aware that it’s out here. A lot of people don’t even know it’s out here in Forbes, so it’s a great museum.”

The auto show featured over 250 vehicles from five different states, making it the largest annual auto show in Topeka.

While trophies are part of the show, many participants enjoy hanging out with other car enthusiasts.

“If you can win a trophy, there’s a bonus,” said participant Mack McClendon. “If not, then it’s cool, we get to meet a lot of cool people and see a lot of cool cars.”

The event brought community members together to enjoy each other’s company and the beautiful day.

“It’s a community thing, you meet people from all over the world and different tastes in vehicles,” McClendon said. “It’s just cool because it’s a community thing and Topeka needs more of it. We need a lot more events like this that are community oriented and not just “whatever.” We want something that is actually community-oriented, that brings the community together and makes Topeka stronger.”

The Combat Air Museum is open Monday to Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
