Man arrested on assault charges after gun attack in Southwest DC in September

Police arrested a person allegedly connected to an assault in Southwest, DC in September.

On Sept. 22, D.C. officers said they responded to the 4600 block of South Capitol Street for a report of an assault. Officers said they found a man who told them that several people had attacked him and hit him with a weapon after he refused to buy marijuana from them.

The suspects then left the area, officials said, and the man was taken to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said 28-year-old Markell Clark was arrested on Oct. 4 for his alleged connection to the incident and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon.

The case remains under investigation, officials said. A reward of up to $10,000 will be offered to the person who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible, officials said.
