(Web Desk) – Supermodel Naomi Campbell admitted to shortcomings in her role as a trustee of the charity she founded, Fashion for Relief, according to media reports.

However, Campbell maintained that she had not committed any financial wrongdoing and had not abused the charity for personal gain during her tenure, the reports said.

Fashion for Relief did not immediately respond to a Reuters request for comment and Campbell could not be reached in London late on Friday.

She “may not have been as actively involved in the day-to-day running of the charity as she should have been,” Campbell’s spokesperson told The Guardian, adding that she “was never involved in any form of financial misconduct.”

Last month she was banned from acting as a charity trustee for five years after an investigation found that money raised for charity was used for spa treatments and cigarettes.

“Naomi has never received payment for her involvement with Fashion for Relief, nor has she charged the organization for personal expenses,” The Guardian reported, citing a statement issued Friday on behalf of Campbell.

She founded Fashion For Relief in 2005 with the aim of raising funds for humanitarian causes by staging catwalk shows, but the charity was removed from the UK list of charities this year.

An investigation into the organization published by the Charity Commission found several instances of misconduct and mismanagement, and the commission said it subsequently expelled Campbell and two others from the trust.
