American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special: Streaming, TV Schedule

The AMAs are celebrating their 50th anniversary with the American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special Offera two-hour primetime show airing live on CBS and streaming live on Paramount+ on Sunday, October 6th.

CBS and Dick Clark Productions have touted that the event will showcase awards show history, with iconic and never-before-seen moments, as well as new performances from artists such as Nelly, Brad Paisley, Chaka Khan and Sheila E, Gladys Knight, Green Day, Nile Rodgers & Chic, Jennifer Hudson, Kane Brown, Mariah Carey, Raye and Stray Kids.

Here’s how to watch the AMA 50th Anniversary Special

The special will air live on CBS and stream on Paramount+ from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. PT. Starting Monday, it will also stream live and on-demand for Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers.

Who will appear in the “AMA 50th Anniversary Special”?‘?

In addition to the cast, Carrie Underwood, Gloria Estefan and Jennifer Lopez will make special appearances, as will Jimmy Kimmel, a five-time AMA host. Other performances on Sunday include AJ McLean, Cedric The Entertainer, Kate Hudson, Lance Bass, Reba McEntire, Samuel L. Jackson and Smokey Robinson.

What about the awards?

DCP and CBS announced that the fan-voted awards portion of the AMAs will return in May 2025. The last AMAs aired on ABC in 2022 and Taylor Swift won a record six times, bringing her total number of AMAs to 40. more than anyone else in history.

The American Music Awards 50th Anniversary Special Offer is produced by Dick Clark Productions, with Michael Dempsey as executive producer. DCP is owned by Penske Media Corporation in a subsidiary joint venture between Penske Media and Eldridge. PMC also owns Deadline.
