Firefighters and first responders are responding to a major fire near Auburn, and possibly other fires

Mid-Michigan, Michigan (WNEM) – We are receiving reports of a major fire near Auburn this afternoon and additional reports of possible fires via comments on social media. We have staff on site and are working on sending more to the area.

The fire, which we can confirm from the Tittabawassee Township Fire Department, is near Auburn and the Williams Township area in Bay County. We will be working to confirm further reports and information is coming in quickly this afternoon.

Those in the path of these fires should be sure to follow all local evacuation instructions from first responders. Warnings are currently in effect due to the dry conditions and strong winds this afternoon. Avoid burns if you can.
