Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Bollywood film director Rajkumar Hirani will be awarded the Madhya Pradesh Government’s Kishore Kumar Samman for 2023 Screenplay.

A culture department official told Free Press that the felicitation ceremony would be held in the legendary singer’s hometown of Khandwa on October 13 to mark the 37th death anniversary of his death. The official said Hirani would receive the award personally.

Hirani is known for films like Munna Bhai MBBS, 3 Idiots and PK. His last film was the 2023 social drama Dunki starring Shah Rukh Khan, Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal.

The event will also feature ‘Kishore Night’, a special musical tribute to the legendary singer by Neeraj Shridhar and his team at the Police Parade Ground, Khandwa. Previous recipients of the Kishore Kumar Samman include Amitabh Bachchan, Manoj Kumar, Dilip Kumar, Dharmendra and Shatrughan Sinha.

Two underage boys sexually abuse a seven-year-old boy

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A seven-year-old was sexually assaulted by two minors at a park near his residence under Kanadiya police station limits on Saturday evening. According to Project Manager of AAS, Jitendra Parmar, the incident occurred on October 4 (Saturday night) when the seven-year-old boy was watching garba near his house and then went to a nearby park.

He started playing swings when two boys confronted him and sexually assaulted him, which was recorded on the CCTVs installed at the site. He further added that the AAS team received information that an incident of child sexual abuse had taken place.

The team investigated the matter and spoke to the family to get information about the incident. While speaking to the boy and his family, his father said, “Two boys who lived near the house sexually abused my child. The boys who committed such a heinous act are around 15 to 16 years old.”

When counseled by the organization, the boy said that his clothes were removed and he was sexually abused by the accused after he beat him. When they came to know about the case, they along with the family reached Kanadiya police station and registered a case under the POCSO Act.

Jitendra also said, “The 7-year-old boy sat at the police station for around four hours before the case was registered. The police initially assured them that they had registered the case, but when they were asked for a copy of the FIR, they could not produce one. We went to the police station at 1.30pm and the case was registered at around 5.30pm. Sitting for so long was not good for the child’s mental health and I will pass this information on to higher authorities.”
