Shots fired by church security after armed suspects attempted to enter Burnet County church

BURNET COUNTY, Texas – At approximately 10:33 a.m. Sunday morning, Burnet County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the church at the Epicenter at 2401 N US 281 in Burnet County in reference to a 911 call.

According to the Burnet County Sheriff’s Office, a man called 911, called police and then disconnected.

When police arrived, it was discovered that a member of the church’s volunteer security team had fired shots.

The security team member said he was confronted by two suspicious men outside the church, one of whom presented a rifle. The security team member fired several shots, causing both men to get into a white minivan and flee the scene. They were seen driving north on US 281.

No one was reportedly injured.

The police are looking for the two men, who are said to have dark skin and wear white clothing and headgear. They are considered armed and dangerous.
