1 dead, several injured in shooting – NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth

A murder investigation is underway after a shooting near the Fort Worth Stockyards district left one dead and several people injured early Sunday morning.

According to Fort Worth police, officers responded to shots fired around 3 a.m. on Oct. 6 in the 100 block of NW 24th Street.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found numerous shooting victims and one person deceased. The injured victims were taken to local hospitals for medical treatment and are expected to survive. Another victim was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, police said.

On Sunday, the Tarrant County coroner identified the man killed as 18-year-old Joseph Padilla.

No arrests have been made in connection with the fatal shooting. Anyone with information is asked to contact Fort Worth police.
