Providence police prisoner transport truck involved in accident outside ACI

CRANSTON, Rhode Island (WLNE) – Cranston police said a Providence Police prisoner transport truck was involved in an accident outside the Adult Correctional Facility on Sunday.

Police responded to New London Avenue around 2 p.m. for reports of an accident between a prison van and a second vehicle.

The accident caused “minor damage” and the six prisoners transported in the van were taken to hospital out of “an abundance of caution.”
