Lansing police car slides into Grand River during chase

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – According to Lansing Police, a police car drove into the Grand River Saturday evening.

This all took place between 9 and 10 p.m. on Saginaw Street across from Adado Riverfront Park. Police said she got out of her patrol car to follow a suspect on a bicycle. During the chase, the car rolled backwards into the Grand River.

Dive teams recovered the vehicle and police arrested the suspect.

It was unclear why officers went after them. However, no one was injured in the incident.
