Albany police are investigating a fatal vehicle-pedestrian crash on Krumkill Road

ALBANY, N.Y. (WRGB) — Albany police are investigating a fatal car crash involving pedestrians that occurred on Krumkill Road Sunday morning.

At approximately 6:55 a.m., officers responded to the area of ​​Bender Avenue and Krumkill Road for reports of a person struck by a vehicle. When they arrived, officers found 50-year-old Jason Steinberg of Herkimer with serious injuries. The victim was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle stopped and was cooperative with the investigation.

Preliminarily, officers determined that the victim was walking on the sidewalk when the driver of the vehicle moved into the westbound lane and drove onto the sidewalk, striking the victim.

The investigation is currently ongoing.
