The Dallas Cowboys (2-2, 2-0 away, 1-3 ATS) visit the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1, 1-0 home, 3-1 ATS) on Sunday Night Football in Week 5 (8:20 p.m ET). ).

Pittsburgh entered Week 5 of the NFL odds as a 1.5-point home favorite, but that line has shifted a full point toward the Steelers over the course of the week.

With the Cowboys now up 2.5 points, the public Cowboys vs. Steelers betting splits show bettors are betting on the underdogs to protect themselves, but when it comes to the moneyline it’s a different story.

About six hours before kickoff, the public NFL betting splits show Dallas receiving 71% of the ATS bets as a 2.5-point underdog, along with 74% of the ATS bets. The Cowboys are just 1-3 ATS this season while the Steelers are 3-1 against the number. Pittsburgh started a perfect 3-0 (both straight and ATS) before losing 27-24 to the Colts in Week 4 as a 2.5-point road favorite.

The Cowboys/Steelers moneyline split is almost the opposite of the ATS numbers. As of 2:38 p.m. ET, the Steelers had reached 68% of the money on just 49% of tickets. Pittsburgh’s only home game to date was an impressive 20-10 victory over Jim Harbaugh’s Los Angeles Chargers.

However, Dallas is 2-0 on the road (and an uncharacteristic 0-2 at home) with wins over the Cleveland Browns (33-17) and New York Giants (20-15).

The game total is up two full points from last Sunday, from 41.5 to 43.5. However, despite the increased total, the crowd still loves the over with 75% of the O/U holding above 43.5.

There are several serious injuries on the Dallas side, which is a big part of why the line has shifted 1.5 points towards Pittsburgh. Most importantly, two-time first-team All-Pro edge rusher Micah Parsons is out with an ankle injury. Parsons was just +405 for NFL Defensive Player of the Year odds after Week 1, but has dropped to +2325 after an injury.

Dallas will also be without WR3 Brandin Cooks, who went on IR with a knee injury.

On the Pittsburgh side, starting OLB Alex Highsmith, who has 11 tackles and a sack in three games this season, will miss his second straight game.

The Steelers will also be good at running back. While RB1 Najee Harris is healthy, the two guys behind him on the depth chart – Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson – are both out.
