2 people arrested for assaulting former Gov. Paterson’s stepson

Two people have been arrested and charged in connection with the attack on former Gov. David Paterson and his stepson near their Manhattan home on Friday evening, according to the NYPD.

According to police, a 12-year-old male was arrested and charged with second-degree gang assault, and a 13-year-old male was arrested and charged with third-degree gang assault.

According to authorities, Paterson and his stepson “were involved in a verbal altercation with five unidentified individuals.”

The suspects then punched them in the face and body before fleeing on foot.
