Police are searching for the driver who seriously injured a 7-year-old in Minneapolis

According to Minneapolis police, a 7-year-old boy was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle Saturday evening.

Officers responded to a report of a hit-and-run near the intersection of 33rd Avenue North and Russel Avenue North on Saturday just before 8 p.m. There they found a 7-year-old with life-threatening injuries. He was taken to hospital.

Investigators believe the boy was riding his skateboard when he was hit by a vehicle. The driver then fled before officers arrived at the scene of the accident.

There is no information about what make and model the vehicle is.
