Three people were seriously injured after a car accident involving a group of cyclists in Tempe

TEMPE, AZ – Three people are seriously injured after a car collided with a group of cyclists in Tempe Sunday morning.

Tempe police said they were called to the area on College Avenue south of Apache Boulevard for the reported accident.

Three of the cyclists were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The vehicle and its driver remained at the scene and the driver cooperated with police.

Police do not believe alcohol played a role in the accident.

The crash is still under investigation.
