NFL odds, Vegas lines, picks, spreads, game predictions: The model loves 49ers and Packers in Week 5, 2024

Half of the 10 Sunday afternoon games on the NFL’s Week 5 schedule are division games, but strangely, none of them feature a team with a winning record. Still, bettors should feel a little more comfortable placing Week 5 NFL bets on these contests, considering there are plenty of recent meetings from which to draw trends. The schedule at 1 p.m. ET includes Ravens vs. Bengals, Patriots vs. Dolphins and Colts vs. Jaguars, with Week 5 NFL spreads on each of the three being under a field goal in the latest NFL odds.

At 4:05 p.m. ET, Raiders vs. Broncos is also a close one, with Denver leading by three points. However, 49ers vs. Cardinals has one of the biggest NFL betting lines of Week 5, as San Francisco is the 7.5-point favorite. Which of these rivals should get your football betting and where should you lean towards the week’s other NFL matchups? All Week 5 NFL lines are listed below, and SportsLine’s advanced computer model provides all the NFL betting tips and NFL predictions you need to make the best Week 5 NFL picks now.

The model, which simulates every NFL game 10,000 times, has risen to well over $7,000 on A-rated NFL picks since its inception for players valued at $100. The model enters Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season with an incredible 188-131 record on top-rated NFL picks dating back to the 2017 season. Since Week 7 of the 2022 NFL season, the record for A-rated NFL picks is also 42-23.

The model also ranked in the top 10 in straight NFL picks on NFLPickWatch over the past six years, beating more than 94% of CBS Sports’ football pick’em players four times during that period. Anyone who has followed it is way up there.

Now it has turned its attention to the latest Week 5 NFL odds and NFL betting lines on spread, moneyline and over-under, setting picks for every NFL matchup. Head here to see each selection.

Top NFL predictions for Week 5

We can tell you that one of the model’s strongest NFL picks for Week 5 is for the 49ers (-7.5, 48.5) to cover the spread over the Cardinals. Arizona is just 2-5 in division play since the start of last season, posting the fifth-worst coverage percentage (28.6%) over that span. The Cards have lost four straight times to San Francisco, with a staggering average margin of defeat of 22 points in those contests.

Despite not playing with all of his weapons for most of the season, Brock Purdy leads the NFL in passing yards and yards per attempt. The SportsLine model projects him to have over 50 more passing yards than Kyler Murray has combined passing and rushing yards. With the NFL’s second-leading rusher, Jordan Mason, projected to have 100 rushing yards, San Francisco’s offense should overwhelm Arizona. So the model covers San Fran (-7.5) with plenty of points and wins ATS in well over 60% of simulations. See what other teams you can choose here.

Another NFL betting prediction for Week 5: The Packers (-3, 49) cover on the road against the Rams. Green Bay is coming off a loss to Minnesota, where Jordan Love returned and was clearly rusty early on. The Packers trailed 28-0, but outscored the Vikings 29-3 in the final 35 minutes of the game. Love set career highs in both passing yards (389) and touchdowns (four) against a Rams defense that ranks 31st in both points and yards allowed.

Los Angeles just gave Caleb Williams his best professional game with career-highs in both completion percentage and passer rating in a loss to the Bears. Additionally, LA was only able to score one touchdown on offense due to glaring weaknesses on that side of the ball. The Rams have the No. 28 rushing offense and are still missing WRs Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua in the passing game. Another week after his injury, Love should be much more consistent, with the model predicting Green Bay (-3.5) covering well over 50% of the time. The model also says that an over (48.5) is achieved in over 50% of simulations. See what other teams you can choose here.
