Woman found dead in basement of Hempstead home

The body of a 29-year-old woman was discovered in the basement of a home in Hempstead on Saturday, according to Nassau police.

Officers responded to a 911 call at the Botsford Street apartment and found the victim suffering from multiple stab wounds.

A neighbor told News 12 the woman has a small child.

“Who could do that, especially to a woman with her child and everything? What could she have done wrong? It’s heartbreaking,” said Larissa Delgado.

Information on suspects or arrests was not immediately available.
