A heavy police presence and a cordon were seen outside the bus station in Beersheba, where a gunman opened fire.

Evidence was collected in and around an adjacent fast food restaurant.

A witness at the scene told N12 News that he saw soldiers shooting at the attacker, who media reports said was a member of the Bedouin minority in Israel’s Negev Desert.

Police described the shooting as a terrorist attack but did not release the identity of the shooter.
