Minor girl was allegedly sexually abused by a family friend for two years in Rourkela

Rourkela: Cases of crimes against women are increasing in Rourkela province of Odisha. After three rapes in just 15 days, reports have emerged that an underage girl was allegedly abused by her father’s boyfriend for over two years.

According to reports, the heinous crime came to light after the girl, aged around 17, gathered her courage and narrated her ordeal in front of her family.

Following this, the victim’s family members lodged a complaint with the Raghunathpali police in Rourkela on Saturday. In their complaint, the family members alleged that the man, identified as Rajen Srivastav (48) of Civil Township, was like a relative of the family. He is said to have sexually abused the underage girl over the past two years.

According to reports, the girl remained silent when the accused threatened the girl that he would kill her if she revealed the matter to her family.

The victim was undergoing medical examination while the accused was reportedly on the run as the girl’s family had lodged a police complaint.
