10-year-old girl, mother hospitalized after car accident, police are searching for the identity of the driver

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Nashville Police are searching for the identity of the driver of a red Nissan after he struck a 10-year-old girl and her mother Saturday night.

Police said the girl and her mother were riding an electric scooter on Nolensville Pike, heading north on the southbound bike path toward Paragon Mills Road.

According to police, the girl and her 28-year-old mother were hit by the car after it entered the bike path at high speed and rammed the scooter.

The 10-year-old girl was taken to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital with life-threatening injuries. Her 28-year-old mother was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Nissan fled on Nolensville Pike and had front end damage, a broken headlight and a temporary tag.
