Cumberland Police arrested Keiana Langan for assault and has an outstanding warrant

Cumberland, MD – Officers with the Cumberland Police Department responded to a report of an assault on Saturday. The incident occurred near George Washington Headquarters Park.

The woman who identified herself as the victim told officers that Keiana Langan attacked her. She claimed Langan hit her repeatedly, causing the victim to attempt to escape. As she fled, Langan allegedly caught up with her and strangled her. A witness intervened during the attack and officers noted strangulation marks on the victim’s neck.

Authorities located Langan near the scene of the reported attack. She was taken into custody and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. Langan also had an outstanding District Court warrant that was served during her arrest.

Langan, 30, of Cumberland, is charged with first-degree assault, second-degree assault and disorderly conduct. She also has a District Court warrant related to child support.

  • New Jersey State Police are asking the public for help in a fatal hit-and-run

    Pittsgrove Township, NJ – New Jersey State Police are asking for the community’s help following a fatal hit-and-run incident involving a pedestrian in Pittsgrove Township, Salem County. The collision occurred early Saturday morning, September 18, on eastbound US Highway 40 near milepost 20.5.

    Investigators’ investigation revealed that at approximately 2:56 a.m., a white sedan struck a pedestrian identified as Allen Miller Jr., a 45-year-old resident of Vineland, New Jersey. The driver fled the scene of the accident. Unfortunately, Miller succumbed to his injuries sustained in the accident.

    Through investigative efforts, authorities identified and arrested 23-year-old Christopher Poore on October 2 at his home in Bridgeton, New Jersey. He is accused of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and of tampering with evidence. Poore was subsequently released pending a later court date.

    New Jersey State Police encourage anyone who witnessed the event or has additional information to contact the Troop “A” Bridgeton Station Detective Bureau at 856-451-0101.

  • Suffolk police rescue kittens from highway

    Oakdale, NY – Suffolk County Police officers rescued a kitten from the wheel well of a vehicle on Sunrise Highway Tuesday evening. The incident occurred around 7:50 p.m. after a motorist reported a kitten stuck in the wheel well of his vehicle.

    Highway Patrol officers responded quickly by blocking the left lane of the highway so emergency responders could safely remove the frightened kitten. The timely intervention ensured the kitten’s safety despite the ongoing traffic conditions.

    The rescued seven-week-old kitten appeared to be in good health despite minor injuries to its tail. After the rescue, the kitten was placed in the care of animal rescuer John Debacker.

    The rescue operation was deemed successful and all officers involved were thanked for their efforts to save the animal.
