Two people have died in a fire in McIntosh

McINTOSH, Ala. (WALA) – The McIntosh Volunteer Fire Department reports two deaths in a fire late Saturday evening.

The department announced on its Facebook page that it responded to a structure fire on River RD East at 10:37 p.m.

The department said upon arrival they located a heavy fire with multiple structures and vehicles burning.

The post said: “Unfortunately two victims were discovered after the fire was brought under control. Please keep the victims’ families and relief workers in your prayers.”

The authorities are not providing any information about the identity or cause of the fire.

It also thanks the Fairford Volunteer Fire Department, Tibbie Volunteer Fire Department, Wagarville VFD, Charity Chapel VFD, ASAP EMS of Alabama, McIntosh Police and WCSO for their assistance.
