Chicago shooting: Timothy Fulton has been identified as the man shot near 79th Street and Ashland, police said

CHICAGO (WLS) – A man was shot and killed on the city’s south side Saturday evening.

According to Chicago police, the shooting occurred in the 7900 block of Ashland around 10:58 p.m.

Police said a 26-year-old man was in an empty lot when someone started shooting in the Gresham neighborhood.

The man was shot twice and taken to the hospital, where he later died.

The coroner has since identified him as Timothy Fulton.

Nobody is in custody. Chicago police are investigating.
