Selma police are investigating the shooting at a home near Pollock Street

Selma police are investigating an overnight shooting at a home at Pelham and Pollock streets.

The call came in around 2 a.m. Crime scene tape surrounded the house while detectives conducted their investigation.

Authorities said police arrested a “person of interest.” A handgun believed to belong to the person in question was found in the front yard of a nearby church, authorities told WRAL News.

WRAL News is working to determine the victim’s condition.

Authorities said there was no threat to the community.
