Paterson police are investigating the shooting incident on Walnut Street

Paterson police are investigating a shooting incident that occurred late Saturday evening in the 200 block of Walnut Street.

At around 10:50 p.m., shots were fired, prompting several police units to respond to the scene.

Upon arrival, officers found bullet casings but no victims. The suspect fled the scene and remains at large.

Authorities credit a ShotSpotter device with alerting them to the shooting.

The incident is currently under investigation and no injuries have been reported.
