Man from Sangre Grande dies in accident in Cumuto

Accident victim Quincy Moore. –

A 31-year-old Sangre Grande man, identified as Quincy Moore, died in a fatal crash Friday evening after a truck crashed into his car.

The accident occurred at the Cumuto traffic light in Wallerfield and emergency crews pronounced Moore dead at the scene.

Dashcam footage of the accident published online shows a truck appearing to run a red light: A few moments later, the truck collided with Moore’s vehicle.

Following the social media clip, Sharon Inglefield, president of Arrival Alive, a non-governmental organization that aims to educate the public about road safety, said on October 5: “If the red light was broken, that is a clear sign that the traffic light is no longer running.” Red light and disregard for the law.”

She described the accident as an avoidable and preventable collision.

“I hope the police investigate this collision with urgency and if the driver did indeed run the red light, they will be charged in a timely manner. Justice delayed is justice denied.”

She urged the public to remember: “Please obey the Motor Vehicles and Highway Code and its regulations because it is designed to protect us all from serious accidents. “Let us all obey the law to protect lives.”
