A fatal accident closes part of Highway 12 in the west subway

MINNETONKA, Minn. – A section of the highway in the West Metro is closed Saturday evening because of a fatal crash, transportation officials said.

The westbound side of Highway 12 will be closed at the Interstate 494/Interstate 394 interchange until about 11:30 p.m., the Minnesota Department of Transportation said.

The Minnesota State Patrol said the crash was fatal. According to the patrol, a motorcyclist crashed into the concrete median. No further details about the crash were given.
