Varun Tej turns into a ruthless gangster in Karuna Kumar’s historical drama

Varun Tej is struggling to score a hit and is pinning all his hopes on his new film Matka. The historical drama is based on gambling and is directed by Karun Kumar of Palasa fame. The film has finished shooting and is busy with post-production.

The makers have started the promotions and released the teaser at a special event in Vijayawada. The first impression we get after watching the teaser is that Varun Tej will go all out with his crazy avatars in the film. Set in the 1950-1990 time zone, “Matka” is about the rise of a small-time player to become an underworld boss of a bygone era.

Varun Tej is portrayed in different avatars and his work on each of his characters is evident in Varun’s different looks. But what captures your imagination is Varun Tej’s medieval look. He is serious and the dialogues he has are also clap-worthy.

The production design, which shows the different eras, also looks solid. Meenakshi Chaudhary plays Varun Tej’s wife in this film, which also has Nora Fatehi in a key role. Naveen Chandra plays a key role alongside Ajay Ghosh.

GV Prakash has composed the music for the film and his score takes the teaser of ‘Matka’ to a new level and gives a solid feel. Karuna Kumar is known for making solid dramas and Matka is his biggest film to date.

Matka Release Date Details

He went through a lot while shooting this film and says that Varun Tej will be seen in a crazy mass avatar in this film. On the other hand, Varun openly agreed that he had made some bad decisions but would make a comeback with Matka.

Along with the teaser, the makers have also decided the release date as Matka will hit theaters on November 14, 2024. Matka needs to click at any cost as Varun’s last three films ended as major flops. At the moment the teaser looks quite interesting. Stay tuned for more updates.
