The Washington Commanders have fired vice president of content Rael Enteen, who made disparaging comments about the team’s players, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell.

On Wednesday, ESPN’s John Keim reported that Enteen had been suspended for comments he made to an undercover O’Keefe Media Group reporter in which he described the team’s players as anti-gay, Jones as racist and anti-gay, and Goodell as anti-gay referred to as a “$50 million puppet.”

Enteen had worked for the Commanders organization for the past four years and spent two years with the New York Jets before moving to Washington. O’Keefe Media Group released a social media video explaining that he met the undercover reporter on the dating app Hinge and had two meetings with her at local restaurants.

Enteen reportedly told the reporter, “Over 50 percent of our cadre are white religious and God says, ‘F–k the gays.'” I don’t believe her interpretation. Another large portion are low-income African Americans who come from an inherently very homophobic community.

He also said: “I don’t think the commissioner of the NFL hates gays, hates blacks. Jerry Jones, who really runs the NFL, I think he hates gays, blacks.”

Enteen also questioned the intelligence of football players, calling them “stupid as hell” and saying he believes those “who get their heads banged around a few times” are more susceptible to conspiracy theories.

Enteen also made derogatory comments about soccer fans and questioned the integrity of the league’s social justice initiatives, calling them “performing.”

“The language used in the video is contrary to our values at the Commanders organization,” a team spokesperson said in a statement Wednesday. “We have suspended the employee pending an investigation and reserve further comment at this time.”
