Shots were fired at NOPD officers executing a warrant and the SWAT team responded

NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – Initial reports from the New Orleans Police Department say shots were fired at officers.

According to the NOPD, officers served a warrant in the 3100 block of N. Tonti Street around 7 p.m. At that point, officers were shot, according to the report.

No injuries have been reported at this time.

11-year-old and adult killed in double homicide in LaPlace

Officials say the suspect barricaded himself in a residence.

A SWAT list was issued to the residence.

According to NOPD, the suspect is believed to be involved in a murder that occurred today on Louisa Street.

The NOPD is asking the public to stay away from the area of ​​Feliciana Street and N. Miro Street.
