Mountain biker flown after Snowbasin crash

SNOWBASIN, Utah, October 5, 2024 (Gephardt Daily) – The Weber Fire Department was dispatched to Snowbasin after a mountain biker crashed on a trail and suffered a traumatic injury.

The incident was reported to the scene on Friday around 3:30 p.m., the statement from the Weber Fire District said.

The accident left the biker unconscious.

“Weber Fire District crews, along with Snowbasin Ski Patrol and Airmed flight crew, performed a technical rescue,” the statement said.

“They used a side-by-side vehicle to reach the crash site, where they stabilized and bagged the patient before transporting him to a waiting AirMed helicopter.

“The patient was then airlifted to a local hospital with serious injuries.”
