One person has died in a car accident in LaPorte County

LAPORTE COUNTY – Ind. (WSBT) — Shortly after 12:30 this morning, LaPorte County officers responded to a crash on the 4400 West Block of County Road 800 South.

The initial on-scene investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle was traveling west on County Road 800 South when he crossed the center line and left the roadway, traveling across the lawn of a home and striking a utility pole and then a large rock .

The driver was identified as 60-year-old Douglas Adams of Union Mills.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and toxicology results are still pending.
