Redding police identify suspects in deadly mass shooting who are still at large

The Redding Police Department (RPD) shared an update on a fatal shooting that occurred Friday morning in southwest Redding, leaving two people dead and three others injured.

On Friday, October 4, at 2:41 a.m., RPD received multiple calls about shots fired and multiple gunshot victims near Westside Road at Meadowbrook Drive in southwest Redding.

When officers arrived, they reportedly found two men dead at the scene. Their identities will be kept secret until families are notified.

While on scene, RPD officers learned that three additional adult victims, two women and a man, had been taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting. According to police, two of the victims were treated and have since been released from the hospital, while a female victim remains hospitalized.

Since the initial response, RPD detectives have been working to identify, locate and arrest the individuals responsible. RPD said investigators have identified 19-year-old Andrew Greer-Herrera of Lookout, California, as the primary suspect in the shooting. Investigators have obtained an arrest warrant for Greer-Herrera on murder charges, but his current whereabouts are unknown.

Officials said investigators also obtained an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Trevon Evanoff on conspiracy charges because of his role in the shooting. According to police, his whereabouts are also unknown.

Investigators are asking the public for help in finding the two suspects. Out of concern that they may be armed and dangerous, RPD asks the public not to contact the identified individuals and to call the SHASCOM detachment if they are seen.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call the Redding Police Department’s Detective Division at (530) 225-4214 or contact Shasta County Secret Witness at (530) 243-2319.
