Metro East shooting victim runs onto MetroLink train and receives medical attention in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – A shooting victim in East St. Louis was caught on a MetroLink train Saturday afternoon and was able to seek medical attention in St. Louis after CCTV was able to determine the victim’s location.

According to BiState Development, the shooting occurred on Metro property near the East Riverfront Station. One of the shooting victims encountered a westbound train.

BiState General Manager Kevin Scott said that through law enforcement coordination and the Real Time Crime Center, they were able to remove the victim from the train at the Civic Center Station and transport him to an area hospital for treatment bring.

“Although this crime did not occur on Metro property, we utilize the tools of the closed circuit television (CCTV) system and coordination with law enforcement partners to work together to resolve any issues, even those not directly related to our transportation system,” Scott said in an explanation. “While these incidents are troubling, they demonstrate the value of basic security investments such as video surveillance and professional coordination with law enforcement.”

First Alert 4 is working to gather more information about the shooting.
